Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #206 - Floral Delight

Hello my dear visitors.  So pleased you decided to drop by.

It is time for  another Challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers.  Mary is our host this time around and the Theme is Floral Delight!   As always, anything you care to create is fine as long as it has lots of lovely flowers!!

Well, if you know my work, you know this Challenge is right up my alley!!  I love to add flowers to my cards .. to the feminine ones that is .. so, of course I made a feminine card!

The papers I have used are by Kaisercraft and they are from the Rose Avenue Paper Pad.  In keeping with the Theme, I have used some floral papers as well as a script design.
I have layered some floral laces in between the papers and, underneath the cluster, you can see the Chloe Stem Die by Memory Box to which I have added a few tiny pearls for a bit of bling!
The other die cut is called Elegant Lines by Altenew.  This one was cut in half so I could spread it out so as it would not be hidden underneath the cluster.
Of course, I had to add some prills and micro beads as well.

Added some colour to the larger blooms.  For the pink, I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in Salt Water Taffy ..
.. and for the yellow I used watered down Distress Ink Re-inker in Squeezed Lemonade.
More prills and micro beads.
Also added some floral paper to decorate the inside.

Would love for you to pop on over to the Crafty Cardmakers Blog to take a look at the wonderful inspiration by the rest of the Team and, while you're there, why not join in the fun and link up your entry!!  Looking forward to seeing your take on the Challenge!!

In the Watercolour Garden - for Megs Garden

Hello everyone and welcome!!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!

I'm here to share two cards made with some stunning papers by Megs Garden.  The collection is called In the Watercolour Garden (hence my post Title) and it is absolutely gorgeous!!  The papers I have used here are from the A4 digital version but you can also purchase these papers in different sizes in both digital and printed format.
All of Meg's papers are fabulous to use as backgrounds but they also have some lovely images as well so, whatever you wish to create, from cards to layouts to mini books, there is a size and design to suit your needs.

I printed out two copies of the paper and cut one to size to be used as my base layer.

I fussy cut the butterfly and two flowers from the second sheet and layered them over the original image.  I used some double sided foam tape to give it dimension.
The flower petals below were all from my stash and were all originally white.  Some of them were coloured with Lindy's Stamp Gang spray and others with watered down acrylic paint.  I then simply layered them to fill the chipboard frame and added some seed beads for the centers.

For my second card I printed a single sheet of my selected paper and added a bit of stenciling with texture paste in the top corner.

Some pretty lace from my stash was adhered down the center of the card.  I also added a piece of gauze and a couple of straws before attaching the flowers.
The blue flower is from my stash.  The smaller flowers are from the Garden.   All of them (except for the white one of course) were coloured with sprays.
The chippie is by Scrapmatts and I simply left it raw.  To create a bit more interest and texture, I added some prills and microbeads.
Instead of twine, I created the bow with some knitting cotton.  I find this best to use when I want a soft, floppy bow.

Meg's Garden products used
In the Watercolour Garden A4 digital papers
Cherry Blossoms
Small White Paper Flowers

Although the laces I used on these cards came from my stash, Meg has some beautiful laces in her shop.  Some are similar to the ones shown here but there are many more as well.

Thank you so much for dropping by and taking a look.
To see all the fabulous products Meg has in store HERE is the link.  Why not also take a look at the fabulous creations by the rest of the Team.  I am sure you will find some wonderful inspiration HERE.

Take care and God Bless.

Dream in Colour - Art Journal Page

Hello sweet visitors and welcome to my blog.
So happy you came for a visit.

I would like to share my latest journal page with you.  I actually started this one quite a while ago.  Last year in fact.   I put it aside as I had to make some Christmas cards, and didn't get back to it until recently.

At first, I really had no idea what I wanted to do so I just started playing around.
I adhered a sheet of tissue paper to the page with Matte Medium and then sprinkled some Magicals powder onto it and sprayed it with water.
I think a lot of the colour actually seeped in under the tissue.  Not sure if that's because I hadn't glued it down properly or if the Medium wasn't strong enough.  I think this was actually the main reason that I put it aside, I wasn't really happy that most of the colour got lost.
When I came across it again and took another look at it, I decided it wasn't that bad after all.  So it looks a little pale .. doesn't matter .. so a lot of the colour got lost somewhere .. doesn't matter.  Do I like it??   I don't hate it!  In the end I just decided to go with it, so I did a little stamping ..
 .. and added some words.
Darkened one corner with Walnut Stain Distress Ink (which also kind of got lost a bit) ..
.. and added a chippie by 2Crafty Chipboard.  I painted it white and then added a bit of colour (deliberately faint this time!) with the same Magicals.

Voila!!  The finished page.
Like I said, I may not love it, but at least I don't hate it and, I learned from it!  Isn't that what Art Journaling is all about?? ... I think so!

I am entering this in the following Challenge
Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge #35 - Anything Goes

Thank you so much for stopping by and thank you as well for any comment you may care to leave for me.  I would love to know what you think about this page and I so appreciate you taking the time.

Take care, be happy and God Bless.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #205 - Love & Romance

Hello everyone and welcome to my crafty space!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!!

The new Challenge has started over at Crafty Cardmakers
Marlene is the host for this Challenge  and the Theme is Valentine based, so it's all about Love and Romance!
As always, anything you care to create is fine as long as it follows the Theme!

So, once again, I have created a card.
This is not really a Valentine's card though.  Hubby and I have been married for 50 years (yeah!  I know!!  I can't believe it either!  LOL!!) but we have never celebrated  Valentine's Day.  Just never felt we wanted, or needed to, so, this card will simply be used to send a little love to a rellie or maybe a close friend on their birthday.

The background was created with some texture paste through a mini 'Art Is' stencil by the Crafters' Workshop.
Once the texture paste was dry, I sprinkled on a little LSG Magicals powder in Rizzo's Rowdy Red and then sprayed over that with water.   I love the way it splatters everywhere and I love all the different colours you get with this technique.
Topped it with my usual cluster of gauze, diecuts and flowers.

The sentiment was printed with a label maker and then mounted on a piece of chipboard.
Once it was all assembled, I swiped the cluster with a little gesso and added some stamping along the edge!
Unfortunately, the stamping was not very clear and I must have hiccupped while doing it!  LOL!  Still, I don't mind that it's a bit messy.  It is handmade after all, so not meant to be perfect!!

Do go on over to the Crafty Cardmakers Blog and check out the fabulous creations by my Team Mates.  You will be inpsired to join in, I'm sure!!  Looking forward to seeing what you create!!

Opportunities - A Man Card

Good day lovely visitors and welcome to my blog!  Hope you are having a fabulous day!

A quickie post again to share another of my 'man' cards with you.  You will see quite a lot of these from me as I have more male friends and family than female.  The ones I have done lately are very similar.  I have simply used different papers and a few different elements but they are basically the same design.  Makes life so much easier than trying to come up with something totally different each time.

The papers are old ones from my stash.  I think they are from Kaisercraft.
Created some layers and distressed the edges.  Inked a few of those edges with Ground Espresso Distress Ink and wrapped some twine around the papers.
A couple of tags tucked in at the sides ..
.. and a quote label which is definitely from Kaisercraft.

A little bit of washi tape for interest ..
.. and, Voila!!
Done!!
I was really pleased when I discovered the quote panel in my stash.  I found quite few of them.  I think I was keeping them to use in a Mini Album but, they work very well on my cards I think!

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a peek.  I really appreciate your visit and any comment you may care to leave.
Have yourselves a wonderful day!!  I hope your weather is being kind.  Ours is really hot at the moment and I am so over it!!  Can't wait for Summer to be finished with!!  Unfortunately, then I will probably start complaining about the cold and wet!!  LOL!!

Take care and God Bless.
